Christmas Wonderland opens Thursday, Nov. 12, 2026, at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th St., the organizer’s website says. The holiday theme park fills the county park off Bird Road, about nine miles southwest of downtown Miami, with carnival rides, light displays, photo spots and free aerial shows. Parking is free.

The 2026 closing date had not been posted when we checked. The 2025 season ran from Nov. 13 to Sunday, Jan. 4, and the site’s FAQ still showed those dates. We will update this page when the organizer posts the full 2026 calendar.

Parking and getting there

Parking and the trolley from the lots are free, and trolleys run until an hour after closing, the organizer says. Tropical Park has two entrances:

  • North Pole Entry, the main entrance off Bird Road (SW 40th Street). The organizer warns that traffic and parking can be heavy here on busy nights.
  • South Pole Entry, off Miller Road (SW 56th Street), open on Saturdays only. The organizer recommends it on busy nights.

Weekday evenings are the quietest, the organizer says. For road work on Bird Road and the Palmetto Expressway, see our road construction and closures page; for transit and parking in the city, see getting around Miami.

Bag and item rules

  • No bags larger than 12 by 12 inches.
  • No outside food or drinks, except for religious or medical reasons with a doctor’s note.

What this means for you

  • Go on a weekday and buy online before 5 p.m. for the lowest price.
  • Saturday: use the Miller Road entrance.
