Yes, the King Mango Strut is on: Sunday, Jan. 3, 2027, from 2 to 6 p.m. in Coconut Grove. The free satirical parade starts with the Banana Drop at 2 p.m. at Commodore Plaza and Main Highway, the organizers say. Streets on the route close from 10 a.m.
The Strut began about 40 years ago as a parody of the King Orange Jamboree Parade, tied to the Orange Bowl game, and now “celebrates (and skewers!) what’s weird and wonderful about Miami and the year that was,” according to its organizers. They say it draws more than 10,000 onlookers and hundreds of marchers, whom they call Strutters.
